HISPANIC MINISTRY DIRECTOROverall Responsibility: Build, develop and nurture corps ministry to the Hispanic Community through outreach, service programs and spiritual ministry.
Essential Job Duties: Plan, develop, and implement spiritual ministries,educational and social services programs for the Hispanic community. Promote cross-cultural emphasis for all areas of corps
activities. Plan, develop and conduct weekly ministry services,
i.e. worship services, bible studies, youth programs, etc. as assigned. Represent The Salvation Army within the community for matters pertaining to the Hispanic community. Participate in special events and fund raising efforts. May take leadership role in Christmas fund raising effort. Recruit, train and manage volunteer program for Hispanic
programs and other corps activities. Attend camps, conferences and meetings as appropriate or assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Standards: Four year degree preferred. Minimum one year post high school academic training and 2 to 3 years ministry experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience / Background: Prior ministry experience preferred. Volunteer service and other experience working with people will be considereD. Supervisory experience helpful. Basic office and computer skills acquired through training or prior experience. It is expected that this position will be filled with a uniformed Salvationist. Corps leadership to have discretion in selection for a candidate willing and able to achieve this status within a specified period of time.
Personal Qualities: Must be bi-lingual (Spanish and English).
Ability and willingness to work irregular and extended work schedules required including Sunday morning worship service.Good interpersonal and public relations skills. Ability to lead by example and to make positive a impression with written and spoken words.
