Otterbein Church is looking for a proven leader to join our staff as the Associate Pastor of Serving, Outreach, and Global Ministries. We are looking for a committed follower of Christ who is passionate about mobilizing the Body of Christ for ministry in the church, community, and throughout the world. JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:
Mobilize & Equip People For Service:
• Develop and oversee a comprehensive strategy that mobilizes adults for ministry service within the church, in our community, and throughout the world
• Help adults discover their unique SHAPE (Spiritual Gifts, Heart/Passion, Abilities, Personality, Experiences) and “sweet spot” for serving in ministry
• Assist other church staff in recruitment, equipping, and mobilization for ministry roles within the church
• Help recruit, equip, and mobilize individuals to serve in the community and throughout the world
Outreach & Global Ministries:
• Assist in the development and coordination of a comprehensive outreach strategy for the church that utilizes outreach “events” and “life style” outreach
• Oversee and coordinate our Global Ministries effort
• Oversee and coordinate our short-term mission trips
Pastoral Care:
• Coordinate and oversee the Pastoral Care of the congregation
• Work alongside other pastoral staff in fulfilling pastoral functions including crisis counseling, weddings, funerals, and hospital/home visitation to the sick and shut-ins
General Pastoral Functions:
• Assist the Senior Pastor and pastoral staff in presenting Sunday mornings messages as needed
• Work closely with the staff and leadership of the church in casting vision and developing effective ministry programming
